aPriori’s Fusion 360 Gets Boost with a New Manufacturing Extension and Cost Insights for Generative Design

aPriori announced a new partnership with Autodesk of San Rafael, Calif. The focus of this collaboration will be on the integration of aPriori’s Cost Insight Engine into the Autodesk Fusion 360 generative design workspace. For the first time, aPriori says, Fusion 360 customers will be able to generate a manufacturing cost estimate for each design alternative created.

“This new partnership with Autodesk is very strategic for our company,” says Stephanie Feraday, president and CEO of aPriori Technologies. “It allows us to expand our footprint into the concept design phase of product development by integrating the power of Autodesk Fusion 360 Generative Design with aPriori’s manufacturing simulation capabilities. Each of the hundreds of design variations created with a generative design study will be analyzed by aPriori to identify a range of cost to manufacture. Whereas other product costing solutions on the market require significant manual input by highly trained experts, aPriori will run entirely automated within generative design.  We also see future opportunity to extend the insights provided with each generative design study to include not only cost, but also manufacturability guidance, making the selection of design direction even more efficient.”
